Maintenance of Birkball Game Table
Playing Surface:
- Clean white surface frequently (One recommended cleaner = Clorox Green Works All-Purpose Cleaner)
Steel Balls:
- It is recommended that chrome steel balls be kept in a Ziploc plastic bag with bags of desiccant to prevent corrosion.
- Steel balls can be cleaned by putting them is a ZipLoc plastic freezer bag. Spray inside bag with a degreaser (e.g. Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser),
rub balls against each other in bag,
add a little water, rub balls again, rinse with lots of water, remove water from bag, place balls on towel and rub dry.
- Chrome steel balls are provided with the game for better corrosion resistance than carbon steel and for slightly more weight and less expense than stainless steel.
- Birkball steel balls from 1997-2010 were one inch in diameter. Testing on 7/8" diameter balls worked out well,
especially for the 35mm red target balls on four foot tables. One inch balls are slightly big for smaller hands. Henceforth,
for 2011+, the Action Games Company will include 7/8" diameter steel balls with games.
- Order new balls from mcmaster.com (prices below from Nov 2010) or mscdirect.com

- $13.50 for 3 (1" dia)
